Polartec® Alpha® Direct 60

Polartec® Alpha® Direct 60 is an ultra-lightweight active insulation designed to quickly wick away excess heat during exercise. Breathable, water-repellent, and extremely quick-drying, it offers an excellent balance of warmth, lightness, and moisture management. With a weight of 60 g/m², it’s the perfect choice for active pursuits and backcountry camping when temperatures remain cool.

Octa® 80

Octa® 80 is a hollow-fiber insulating fabric that offers an excellent warmth-to-weight ratio. Its unique structure effectively traps heat while remaining highly breathable. Its soft inner layer provides immediate comfort, while its mesh outer layer enhances durability and speed of drying. It pairs perfectly with Polartec® Alpha® Direct to create high-performance insulation for active wear.

10D Nylon Taffeta

10D Taffeta Nylon is an ultralight, breathable, and windproof fabric that is well-known in the outdoor world. Water-repellent and soft to the touch, it offers an excellent balance of lightness, protection, and packability.

20D Micro Ripstop Nylon

100% recycled 20D Micro Ripstop nylon prioritizes durability without compromising on lightness. More robust than 10D, it retains excellent windproof and water-repellent properties for more intensive use.

Deltapeak® Laminate

Deltapeak® Laminate is a two-layer, 100% recycled fabric designed to provide excellent protection against the elements. Waterproof, windproof, and breathable (20,000 mm / 20,000 g), it transforms the Ostara Micro Down Jacket into a jacket suitable for the wettest conditions while remaining lightweight.

These pants are unisex and have a loose fit to allow for greater range of motion and enough room for a pair of socks and a sweater.

The weight may vary by +/- 10% depending on how the insulation is manufactured. The options will inevitably add weight to your sweater.

The Ostara Micro Down Jacket combines Polartec® Alpha® Direct 60 and Octa® 80 to provide lightweight, breathable, and exceptionally versatile active insulation. This combination helps retain heat while effectively wicking away moisture during physical activity.

Its cut allows for great freedom of movement. The back is slightly longer to provide better protection for the lower back, while the cuffs and hem are elasticated to keep the wind out.

The hood can be equipped, as an option, with an adjustment system that allows for a more precise fit depending on the conditions.

Two configurations are available:

– Zip 1/2 Version: A large kangaroo pocket allows you to fold the jacket in on itself to form a camping pillow. A built-in elastic strap then helps secure it to the mattress.
– Full-Zip Version: two hand-warmer pockets and a sturdy, durable YKK® Vislon® #5 two-way zipper that makes it easy to access a backpack’s waist belt or a harness.

The Ostara Micro Down Jacket offers a level of warmth comparable to that of an insulated softshell, while remaining much lighter and more packable.

The temperatures listed below are for reference only and may vary depending on your sensitivity to the cold, the layers of clothing you are wearing, and weather conditions.
