Octa® special cross-section fiber
"Through a variety of fiber forms, we can add perceptual qualities of softness, drape, dry feel and functionalities of perspiration absorption, quick drying, non-transparency, lightness, heat retention and thermal insulation. Octa® is an exceptionally unique polyester fiber with a distinctive, highly modified cross-section with eight projections aligned in a radial pattern around a hollow fiber.
The voids in the 8-fin fiber structure enhance thermal protection and insulation properties, and create the lightweight feel of hollow wire representing around 50% of the weight of wire of similar thickness.
With its octopus-like appearance, OCTA® fiber is designed for fall and winter mid-layers and lining materials for outerwear in the fashion and outdoor industries. The spaces between the projections preserve body heat to provide extra warmth. The unique construction of OCTA® fiber contributes to fast drying and an airy texture, as fabrics are 50% lighter than ordinary polyester materials."
The fabric has a very soft interior and a very light mesh exterior, making it much more resistant than its competitors.

The sizes are unisex, wide for better range of movement and to leave room for a first base and sweater.
The weight may vary by +/- 10% depending on the manufacture of the insulation. Options will inevitably add weight to your sweater.
ALPHA® 60 is a 100% recycled polyester fabric, 60gr/m². The fabric used is navy blue.
OCTA® 80 is a 100% polyester 80gr/m² fabric.The fabric used is black.
The 10D nylon taffeta is a very high quality, 22G/m2/0.66 OZ taffeta fabric. Good DWR finish (extremely fine water-repellent polymer treatment). Highly breathable. Windproof.
20D Micro ripstop is a high-quality, breathable, micro-ripstop nylon. DWR (extremely fine water-repellent polymer treatment). Breathable. Windproof. Highly resistant: 39g/m². Available in Black.
Deltapeak® Laminate "Mono Material 2 layer" is a 100% recycled, 110gr/m², two-layer waterproof fabric. Ultra-resistant, windproof, waterproof and breathable, it is rated 20k/20k. Available in Dark Blue.
The jacket is cut for maximum freedom of movement. The back falls low, over the buttocks, to keep the back warm.
The cuffs and bottom of the jacket are finished with elastic bands. The hoods are adjustable thanks to an elastic cord around the circumference, with the "adjustable hood" option.
Jackets are designed with pockets as standard:
- Zip 1/2" jacket: kangaroo pocket with two zippers, one of which is reversible, so you can store your jacket inside the "heated" pocket and turn it into a pillow. In pillow mode, an adjustable elastic band secures it to your mattress. For a thicker pillow, I recommend adding a sweater or other items of clothing inside the pocket.
- Full-zip jacket: heated side pockets.
On "full-zip" jackets, the zippers used are size #3 YKK, two-way to facilitate access to your backpack belt or French Light Outdoor fanny pack , or to facilitate access to your climbing harness.
The OSTARA® micro down jacket is comparable to an ultra-light softshell jacket in terms of warmth, wind resistance and water resistance.
The comfort limit temperatures for use are around 15°C static and 8°C moving (the feel may vary depending on the user).
Delivery times are several weeks. Fabrics come from the USA, so please allow for manufacturing time.
